Hope...The Hero of Your Own Dreams is a "year in the life" documentary produced by Dmae Roberts and students at Binnsmead Middle School. Roberts worked with a class of English as a Second Language 8th grade students from 17 different countries and nationalities at Binnsmead Middle School, one of the poorest schools in Portland, OR.
During the course of one year, they grow up, sing songs, write poems, and talk about war, love, friends, family, their homelands, and what they see as hope for the future. Winner of the Heart of America award. Introduction by Oregon Symphony Conductor James DePreist.
