MediaRites Productions presents New Media Training Seminars on digital and audio production. The seminars are taught at MediaRites' office or Salisbury Studio to small groups of adults. The goal is to bridge the digital divide by providing low-cost media training opportunities with careful attention to individual interaction. Study with Peabody-winning producer Dmae Roberts and engineer Clark Salisbury who have collaborated since 2002 on award-winning feature stories and documentaries. These seminars are limited to six participants, offering intensive training at an affordable cost. We're offering classes monthly that will take you from novice to professional.

Social Media Promotion for Creatives (3 hrs) - Every day there are new social media apps and platforms to learn. It can be confusing just how much you need to know to maintain a professional presence online. Learn how to maintain privacy while creating effective promotions as well manage a successful Kickstarter. Most careers and projects require social media promotion. Itís the most cost-effective and visible way to get the word out on your projects, events and business. Learn the social etiquette and effective strategies to get your message out (and remembered!) on the worthwhile work youíre doing. You'll get personal interactive attention as we navigate the best practices of social media promotion. This seminar is suggested before taking the crowdfunding seminar.

Successful Crowdfunding Strategies (3 hrs) - Everyone seems to be raising funds for their projects through Kickstarter, Indiegogo or other crowdfunding sites these days. Creating a crowdfunder is a relatively quick and painless way to get your project funded and to connect you with a community of donors who will continue to care about your work. But many Kickstarter type projects arenít funded. Dmae has successful completed crowdfunding projects and created and lent support to numerous Kickstarter projects. In a fast-paced, interactive three-hour seminar, you will get step-by-step strategies to help bring in contributors to your successful fundraiser project. You must have social media experience before taking this seminar.

This project was an experiment to tell a story through visual art, creative writing and audio. We selected three writers and artists, damali ayo, Ping Khaw and Sam Ward to create flashSTORIES of their choosing. The result is audio, photos, and video that create a new kind of art.



Flash Histories - originally created for

A way to experience segments of Crossing East online, these flash movies show some of the hundreds of historical photos gathered during the documentary process. These flash movies produced by Clark Salisbury, with funding from the Regional Arts and Culture Council of Portland.
